Search for new physics in high-mass diphoton events from proton-proton collisions at √s = 13 TeV
Abstract
A search for new physics in high-mass diphoton events using the full CMS Run II dataset (138 fb⁻¹, 2016–2018). No statistically significant excess is observed. The analysis sets the strongest limits to date on ADD extra dimensions and Randall–Sundrum gravitons with a coupling parameter greater than 0.1. Personal contribution: the non-resonant search using a first-principles NNLO QCD prediction of the irreducible Standard Model background, the core of my PhD thesis (CERN-THESIS-2024-052).
